CMS updates: additions to Dimensions table and Item type control list - March 2024
The VC team would like to take this opportunity to share two updates to the VC CMS, to assist with recording Dimensions and Item type selection.
Diameter added to Dimensions table
To assist with recording the accurate measurements items that are circular in shape, or include a circular component, Diameter is now available as a selection in the Dimensions table.
You can find the Dimensions table in the Description section of an Item record.
Item type added to control list
The Item type field is a top-level category within Victorian Collections that accurately describes the type of item you are documenting.
The list of Item types is a controlled list and the VC team periodically adds new Item types. This is informed by internal assessment of broad and demonstrated community need.

The following Item type has been added to the control list:
- Monument

If you need to record classification information in addition to the Item types available, the Item name field is available as a free-text field.
