The VC team would like to take this opportunity to share an update to the VC CMS, to assist with Item type selection.

Item types added to control list

The Item type field is a top-level category within Victorian Collections that accurately describes the type of item you are documenting.
The list of Item types is a controlled list and the VC team periodically adds new Item types. This is informed by internal assessment of broad and demonstrated community need. 

The following Item types have been added to the control list:

- Model

- Honour board

If you need to record classification information in addition to the Item types available, the Item name field is available as a free-text field. To access the VC CMS' in-built help guide for examples of how to use this field, click the ? icon while your cursor is in the field.
