Victorian Collections is a free, web-based collections management system and online portal to the collections held by community groups across Victoria. Developed and maintained by the Australian Museums and Galleries Association and Museums Victoria, Victorian Collections provides both an online platform and program of training and support across metropolitan and regional Victoria. 1. IT’S FREE
There is no cost to join or use the website.
 
2. UNLIMITED USERS
There is no limit to the number of cataloguers on your organisation’s page at any one time.
 
3. NO OBSOLESCENCE
As a web-based system, you’ll never have to install or upgrade software; in turn, VC will never have compatibility issues with your device.
 
4. DATA SECURITY
Data is stored securely by Museums Victoria, at no cost to users.
 
5. UNLIMITED STORAGE
There is no limit to the amount of data you can store on Victorian Collections, saving you server space at your organisation.
 
6. ONLINE PUBLICATION
Online publication is a free feature of Victorian Collections. You can easily publish your collection online, whilst choosing to keep some records private. You can also use our API to surface content on your own website!
 
7. COMMUNITY
Victorian Collections has over 500 active organisational users across Victoria, meaning you’ll be part of a strong community of users.
 
8. SUPPORT
You’ll also have access to phone and email support from the Victorian Collections team five days a week.
