1. Changes to VC CMS login page
Cataloguers now have the option to stay signed in to the VC CMS within their browser:
If you use the VC CMS often, making this selection means you will stay signed in on this browser, so you won't need to log in every time you visit. If you do not use the VC CMS for a few days, or if you have not been asked for a password for a period, you may be asked to log in again.
When to use this new feature:
This feature is best suited to cataloguers who are:
- using their own device to log into the VC CMS, which is not shared with any other catalogue
- logging into a device which has its own individual profile log-in and password on starting the device
When not to use this new feature:
The VC team does not recommend using this feature if:
- you are working on a device at your organisation which you share with other VC cataloguers
- you are logging into the VC CMS on a public device (such as at your local library)
2. Changes to ‘Add member’ process
When inviting a new person to become a member of your organisation’s VC account, you will no longer be required to create a username for this person – they will instead have the ability to create a username as part of the process of accepting their invitation.
3. Changes to Record health terminology
We have made changes to the terminology used in relation to Record health. This new terminology can be seen in two places within the CMS: the To do tile on the Dashboard, and the left-hand sidebar when viewing the catalogue.
4. New Creator role term: ‘Curator’
The term ‘Curator’ has been added to the Creator role control-list field. This control-list field will appear when you attach a Party as a Creator entry via ‘Parties associated with Creation’ in the Provenance section.
